THE CHIPPAWA
One of the most unique Wisconsin lures, The Chippawa, was created and patented by Omar F. Immell of Blair Wisconsin in 1911. The Chippawa was made in six different sizes from 3 1/2" for bass to 5 1/4 for Muskie. From a sales ad in 1915 "The general appearance, natural shape, large and attractive spinner of the Chippawa bait is the right idea of a fish lure. The spinner placed inside of the bait puts the flash where it ought to be, where it is in a live minnow". The Immel bait company ceased production of the Chippawa in 1917.
All lures come in an attractive wood presentation box, with a written history and a copy of the original patent drawing.
